Post Sermon Thoughts: (The sermon:

I've gotten a good bit of feed back from Yesterday's sermon topic, demonstrating to me that most of you are trying hard to process a very new idea for many of you. The question of how we come to understand God's will is maybe one of the most important questions we ever ask. Remember that a sermon is meant to draw you into the mind and heart of God, hopefully causing you to challenge yourself toward growth and transformation. The challenge of hearing something new (if in fact what you heard was new) is to allow you opportunity to hear, consider, and be transformed as God's Spirit leads, both as a Church Body and as people within our church. A Sermon is not infallible, the Scriptures are. My only hope as to the content yesterday is that you consider yourself in light of the Truth God is showing us, challenge yourself to entertain the possibility that you may be operating with some false assumptions when considering what it means to be a part of a local church, and allow God to speak to you within the context of The Truth of Scripture (which is infallible), the context of the Body God has called us to, and the teachers God gives us in our daily lives. Investigate the Truth as it applies to us and we will find ourselves more often than not standing inside God's will. If we can learn to do this with each and every sermon we hear, instead of shutting ourselves off to God's ability to speak or dimissing an idea because we have never seen it that way before, I am convinced that God can speak to us in ways that might astound and amaze us. May God bless us all as we move forward together toward participating fully in the Kingdom of God, In Touch, Souled Out, and Set Loose!!
